The loss of my 16-year-old son Rand by suicide was the hardest, most gut-wrenching pain I could ever imagine. Heavy days and fitful nights of heartache.

If you are here reading this, you’ve likely lost a child by suicide, or you know someone who has. Perhaps several suicides have marked your life.

And maybe like I have … you’re experiencing a constant loop of questions in your mind:

“Why did they do this?”

“Why didn’t I see it?”

“Was this my fault?”

“What should I have done... better?”

“What are other people thinking?”

“What else is going to happen to me?”

If any of this sounds familiar, you are not alone.

I want you to know that not only is there hope for healing … there’s help.

Let me take you back to the time before 2004, before Rand ended his life. I’d been leading intensives across the US for years, helping people navigate through the darkest of times. I felt called to provide a safe space for sharing and tools to empower people to reclaim their lives.

All the while, I had NO CLUE as to the personal tragedy that lay ahead in my own life.

When the worst hit home, the pain was beyond … At the same time I was remarkably fortunate to have a powerful set of tools in the palm of my hand to help me handle the intensity.

But I realized it wasn’t enough …

Over the next 12 years, I committed to learn everything I could to help people recover and thrive again:

  • Completing graduate school, focusing on neuroscience & trauma healing
  • Gaining certifications in integrative health & mind/body medicine
  • Continuing to lead intensives in the US and internationally
  • Speaking & leading workshops at national suicide prevention conferences
  • Working with dear friend Iris Bolton, a leader in suicide prevention & aftercare, co-producing Iris's Voices of Healing and Hope Video Interviews Series, 5 hours with loss survivors

From these experiences I created the MindPeace Method® … A fully integrative approach designed for healing mind, body and soul. Especially when life blindsides us.

Now I want to give it to you.

Hello, I'm Elaine Alpert.

After Rand ended his life, I clearly remember my deep wish, wanting nothing more than to rewrite history and bring my son back. But of course we humans aren’t endowed with such power.

However... there are very real and powerful resources to heal the pain, the regrets, and the sense of brokenness you may be feeling.

In my work with people over time, here’s what I’ve come to know:

It’s human nature to take something that is already very hard to bear... and make it even harder.

It’s not that we mean to suffer more, but this is what happens…

Crucially, there is the loss itself. Your grief is real, painfully so. Your child, who you counted on to choose LIFE, made a very different decision – and you feel enormous distress.

Then you wonder if there was something more you could’ve done to save them. Or, just as hard, you fear it was something you said or did that opened the door to suicide.

On top of it all, you may agonize over how you’re ever going to get through this. And stressed out about what else could be around the corner?

It’s common to add even more suffering on top of our heartbreak.

In this downward spiral, we feel overwhelmed and alone. Since there is no way to change what’s happened… we feel stuck in the pain. But, there is also good news here – you don’t have to get trapped in that cycle and prolong your grief.

I am here to tell you … You can find peace and even joy, again.

That’s why I’m inviting you to join me in a special program utilizing the MindPeace Method® ...

In this 4-Session online program just for mothers, we’ll go beyond talking about what happened. I will show you how to make tangible progress alongside other moms who want a different way to recover their lives, functionally and emotionally.

A personal note about Iris and me: I’m fortunate to live in the same city as Iris. She’s a wonderfully generous woman who’s been a leader in the field of suicide prevention & aftercare for 40 years, since the loss of her son Mitch, by suicide. When my son Rand died, we met and have become close friends. We’ve presented at national suicide conferences together and I co-produced Iris's 'Voices of Healing and Hope' video interviews with survivors. Then Iris invited me to create this course to accompany her book. I’m so honored!

“After each session I go back and look at the videos and take notes. I’ll treasure these notes, and reread them because of what I've learned here. When things get hard I know I have tools to help me again!” --C.R.

“I feel like I'm growing now versus the last five years. It was that same narrow pathway over and over, suffering with guilt and unable to have real fun. I pretended a lot. This is the first time, through this course and after having a private session, that I've felt more peaceful and free.” --M.S.

The processes I have learned from Elaine have had profound and lasting effects. I have done a lot of work with therapies, workshops and group work, but Elaine’s ability to get to the heart of the matter and her techniques for healing are amazingly efficient, deep and immediate.” --J.H.

Who is this Program for?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pathway to Peace of Mind is not a substitute for therapy, or psychological or medical treatment. Please reach out to a licensed therapist or medical professional for support as needed.

This Program is for you if …

  • You are a mom who has lost a child by suicide, or perhaps it is unclear whether it was a suicide, and you are at least 3 months out from your loss by the START date of this course.

  • You feel ready – in terms of where you are in your own grief process – and want to learn specialized tools to make significant progress in your own jurney, to go beyond telling your story.

  • You may or may not be attending a support group, seeing a therapist, or going to the spiritual center of your choice. This material can be an excellent adjunct.

  • You are new to personal growth work or you’re quite seasoned. There is great value either way.

  • You have internet access and a reliable computer, smart phone, or tablet.

About Elaine...

Rand ended his life on my younger son’s 9th birthday, which threw an extra layer of heartache into the mix for all of us. He's now 25 and doing well. I’m also happy to say that my husband Tom and I are celebrating our 33rd anniversary this year. We’ve deepened our connection and made it through a very tough set of years together which included serious illness and financial loss due to the national housing crisis.

If Tom and I hadn't used the MindPeace Method® I don’t know where we’d be today … likely our marriage would have suffered beyond repair. Anybody living with loss of family by suicide knows the inherent challenges.

Now it can be your turn to have this powerful program. Use it not only for yourself, but also for how this could impact your family, friends and workplace. Please, use these tools for the rest of your life!

“Elaine’s life’s work is sharing her own earned strength, wisdom and courage, and we are lucky to be recipients of those gifts!” --S.V.

I learned so much and now I feel safe getting back to my life again. I would trust Elaine with any issue I was having. She is amazingly respectful of everyone.” --A.N.

“These past few weeks with Elaine have absolutely changed the view-finder on my life.” -- A.V.T.

“I now feel untangled and unknotted... I can stand up straighter, my neck stopped hurting, my jaw is better, and I can actually exercise... The connection with all the other moms is a very healing, solid foundation for me.” -- M.R.

“I've been to every single place there is for healing, but most of my healing has come through your workshops. It has made such a difference that I just want to go out and tell the world!” --MB.S.

The past doesn’t creep up behind me and pull me under the waves of depression like it used to. Elaine’s classes were a catalyst for this tremendous change!” --K.C.

How is this different from a support group? This program meets online from any location with internet. It provides proprietary tools and a step-by-step method for dealing with regrets, fear, relentless questions, guilt, shame, emotional & physical pain. Since you get Recordings & Handouts from every Session, you can continue to use these tools in multiple areas of your life: Relationships, Family, Health, Finances & Work.

Won’t being ONLINE with such sensitive topics feel strange? For years the ONLY groups I led were in person so I had the same concern. I often hear women say they are surprised by how connecting our sessions are, even those who first resisted the idea. I work with mothers all over the country who are SO grateful to have found this community where they feel understood, safe and supported. And all without forfeiting the ease of being at home or away on a trip.

Is there a way to meet moms in person? Yes, I do offer in-person Retreats, CLICK HERE. Women travel to be together, create close bonds and further expand their healing. 'Pathway to Peace of Mind' is a prerequisite.

Some days I don’t feel like sharing. Will this still work for me? Creating an open, welcoming and respectful environment for the group is my first Priority. There is no pressure to share and no requirement to join the Facebook group. You can test the waters and see how it feels for you. You can also skip live sessions and access the Recordings instead. And, sometimes when we are feeling really low, it's actually the best time to remember we are not alone... and make the stretch to come to a live Session.

Can I really make significant progress in the course? Absolutely, if you take advantage of what’s here. The tools can be used for a month or a lifetime. This course is intentionally set up as a one-month experience that can reduce anxiety and bring you a lot of power and energy in a short timeframe. If you need to review tools or something that was shared you can always return to the recordings. Lastly, you can make connections with other moms going through a similar loss--friendships you may cherish for life.

What if I can’t attend live Sessions? Many people have to miss one or more Sessions due to conflicts. The recordings will provide how-to’s for the tools I teach. My sessions tend to have a natural flow with real connection; you are likely to feel as if you are present even if you are watching the recording. You can also ask me questions in the Facebook group or Private Message me on Facebook Messenger.

Since this is grief-related, why is there a charge? Pathway to Peace of Mind is a tool-based step-by-step online program, rather than a local support group supported by volunteers. And unlike typical online programs, no sessions are pre-recorded. I not only teach the tools but also address the particular needs of the women who are present. Since some women are often significantly affected by loss-related costs, I founded a nonprofit, MindPeace Miracles, which keeps costs low so these programs can be provided for a small fee. At this time, partial scholarships are available. Please 'Send Elaine a Message' using the blue button under the video on this webpage if you would like to apply. The nonprofit mission is to support women and their families facing loss through tool-based educational programs, helping them go beyond surviving to thriving, by developing deep meaning, purpose, and joy in life once again.

Is this the only program you have... or can I continue after this one ends? Your participation and learning with this community of mothers can continue, both online and at in-person at Retreats. Learn more on the nonprofit website, MindPeace MIracles.

Do you have a Bio I could check out, Elaine? Yes, click here to read more.

Can I work with you one-on-one? Yes, I do work privately with a limited number of women and couples, you can reach me at:

Elaine is a healer at heart… that is her life’s work. But more importantly, she has taught me how to heal myself. What really makes Elaine stand apart is not only what she delivers but also the caring and compassion she has for the people she works with.” -- J.N.

And I want you to know …

In this 4-Session course I can't deliver everything I utilized to fully reclaim my life. However I’ve carefully selected what I believe will give you the most benefit in a brief timeframe.

So if you feel ready to put the oxygen mask on yourself first, please join us!
